Why pH Balance Matters for Your Skin and Tan:
pH stands for "potential hydrogen," which measures the acidity or alkalinity of a substance on a scale from 0 (most acidic) to 14 (most alkaline). Maintaining the right pH balance on your skin is essential for keeping it healthy, hydrated, and responsive to tanning products.
The skin's protective barrier, known as the acid mantle, plays a vital role in retaining moisture and blocking harmful elements such as bacteria and toxins. For optimal skin health, the acid mantle should have a slightly acidic pH of 5.5. When the skin becomes too alkaline, it can become dry, sensitive, or even inflamed, impacting the effectiveness of your spray tan.
By using Muscle Prep, you can restore your skin to its ideal pH, setting the stage for a more vibrant and long-lasting tan.
Directions for Use:
Spritz Muscle Prep onto dry skin using the pump dispenser and allow it to dry before applying your base coat or top coats. For a more professional application, you can also use a spray gun and dry the product with air from a machine. Ensure your skin is properly prepped for the best spray tan results!
